Overview
Maxi-Sky is the wide-span route in the roof glazing range. Instead of presenting one oversized flat pane, it uses a shallow pitched aluminium structure with minimal glazing bars to carry daylight along a larger roof opening. The supplier specifies a maximum width of 2.3 metres and makes the length to the project requirement, so every quote starts with the actual opening. It suits Essex extensions where the roof glazing should cover more area than a Maxi-Flat while remaining lower and visually quieter than a conventional raised lantern.

Wide-Span Design
Width, length, bar layout and glazing are treated as one measured roof system. The final arrangement follows the prepared opening rather than a standard single-pane size.
The Maxi-Sky is a different construction from the single-panel Maxi-Flat. Its shallow pitched form carries a longer run of glazing with only the bars the span requires.
The studio view isolates the shallow pitch, slim perimeter and transverse bars, making the product structure easier to read than it is against a bright sky.
From the room below, the long glazed run spreads daylight across more of a kitchen or dining extension. The final number and spacing of bars still follow the approved dimensions.
The exterior view shows the Maxi-Sky sitting on a weathered upstand with a shallow fall, rather than being mistaken for a flush single-pane rooflight.
Every Maxi-Sky is sized around the measured roof opening. Width, length and glazing-bar layout are planned together, with rooflights available up to 2.3 metres wide and made to the required length.
The rooflight is manufactured around the surveyed opening rather than selected from a short list of standard sizes. We confirm the width, length and glazing-bar layout before manufacture.
The 2.3 metre limit applies to the rooflight width. The supplier describes the length as made to order, with the final bar layout, glass and handling route confirmed for the surveyed run.
Glazing and colour choices are agreed after the opening has been measured, so every part of the rooflight is ordered as one coordinated specification. Five RAL frame colours are stocked, with other RAL finishes available to order.
The Maxi-Sky is available with double or triple glazing. Toughened safety glass, argon-filled units and self-cleaning glass are specified through the supplier range.
The supplier range includes five standard colours, with special-order finishes available when the rooflight needs to coordinate with other aluminium or roof detailing.
A wide rooflight depends on the roof detail beneath it. We check the prepared kerb, roof fall, drainage, weathering junction and safe installation access before the unit is released for manufacture.
The price follows the measured width and length, the required bar layout, glazing choice, frame finish and the condition of the prepared roof opening.
Access, lifting and making-good requirements can also change the installation scope, so the complete figure is confirmed after survey.

Product fit
Maxi-Sky sits between a single-panel flat rooflight and a conventional raised lantern. Its shallow pitched structure carries a longer run of roof glazing with minimal bars, giving a wider spread of daylight without making the roof feature unnecessarily tall.
Optional Upgrade
Wider rooflights can brighten a room dramatically, but they also need careful glare control. Integrated blind options are worth discussing where the room below needs a cleaner solution than surface-mounted roof blinds.

Step 1
We measure the width and length of the prepared opening, then check the kerb, roof fall, drainage, weathering junction and lifting route before the wide-span specification is priced.
Step 2
The rooflight dimensions, glazing-bar arrangement, double or triple glazing and frame finish are recorded as one coordinated order. The final lead time is confirmed once the measured specification is approved.
Step 3
Our Cii team installs the made-to-measure Maxi-Sky onto the prepared kerb, completes the weathering and checks the glazing, bars and perimeter seals before handover and guarantee sign-off.
