Product Form

A raised lantern built for square openings

The Maxi-Pyramid is the right route when the roof opening is square and the room benefits from a raised form. Four equal glazed sides rise to a central apex, delivering balanced light from all directions.

Made to measure

See the Maxi-Pyramid from every angle

The symmetrical four-sided form responds naturally to a square opening. A hipped lantern would look unbalanced over the same opening because its ridge line introduces asymmetry.

Symmetrical four-sided form

Symmetrical four-sided form

Four equal glazed sides rise to a precise central apex. The form only works when the opening is genuinely square, which is why we check the geometry before quoting.

  • Four equal glazed panels to a central apex
  • Opening must be square for the form to work
  • Geometry checked before order
Balanced light from all directions

Balanced light from all directions

Four glazed panels deliver natural light throughout the day as the sun moves around the building. The room below gets an even spread rather than directional light.

  • Light from all four sides throughout the day
  • Even spread across the room below
  • Strong architectural feature from inside

From outside, the pyramid sits as a distinct architectural element on the flat roof. The slim aluminium frame keeps the profile clean.

  • Visible from both inside and outside

The frame colour, glass specification, and vent options are confirmed together at quote stage. Standard RAL colours are shown below; custom colours are available to order.

Product fit

A raised lantern for square openings

A pyramid lantern is the cleaner raised form when the roof opening is square. The shape rises evenly to a central point, so it can look more balanced than forcing a rectangular hipped lantern onto the wrong opening.

Best fit for

  • Square flat roof openings where symmetry matters
  • Rooms needing a raised roof feature without a long rectangular form
  • Projects where the lantern is visible from inside and outside

Consider another option when

  • The opening is long and rectangular rather than square
  • The roof glazing should stay flat and low profile
  • Ventilation or a walkable roof area is the main requirement

What we check on survey

  • We check whether the opening is genuinely square enough for the pyramid form.
  • We confirm where the central point will sit in relation to the room below.
  • We discuss frame colour, glass tint, and vent options before manufacture.
